TULSI,THE MIRACLE HERB.

In India, a cherished aromatic plant known as 'Tulsi' has been used for thousands of years to prevent and cure a myriad of illness and ailments including colds and flu, fevers, headaches, coughs and throat infections, skin irritations, inflammation, colic, heart disease, kidney disease, insect and snake bites, tooth pain and ear-ache.

インド国内において、誰からも愛されている「 トォルシー<Tulsi> 」と呼ばれる大変香りの良い植物は、何千年もの間、民間伝承において、風邪、インフルエンザ、熱、頭痛、せきとのどの感染症、皮膚炎、炎症、腹痛、心臓病、腎臓の病気、虫刺され、ヘビに噛まれた時などの治療に持ちいれられ、また、歯痛や耳の痛みを含くむ病気や症状を防ぎました。

Like a secret whose origins have been lost in time, praised in ancient Indian scriptures, Tulsi−or Holy Basil−is worshipped like a Goddess and is recommended for hundreds of serious disorders.

時の経過の中で、その起源は秘密の如く不明であるが、その価値は、古代インドの経典の中で称賛されています。トォルシー、あるいは、別名ホーリー・バジルは、女神のように崇められ、そして何百という重い病気に対して、使用が薦められています。

It seems unbelievable that just one plant can be antibiotic, an antidote for poisons, an immune system booster, an antiviral, a remedy for arthritis, an anti-apasmodic, a digestive, a curative for blood and skin diseases, an anti-pyretic and a stress reliever.

たった一つの植物が、抗生物質、解毒剤、免疫向上薬、抗ウィルス剤となり、関節炎や抗生物質 、消化剤、血液と皮膚病の治療薬、解熱剤となり、しかもストレス軽減に効くとは、信じ難いことです。

Recent report claim that the rot, crushed and boiled with turmeric powder is a preventative and effective cure for SARS, and for centuries the herb has been employed as a universal malaria prophylactic.

最近の報告では、トォルシー（ホーリー・バジル）を腐敗させてつぶしたものを、ターメリックの粉末と一緒に茹でると、SARSの予防と治療に効果的であるとの見解が出されています。そして、何世紀もの間、そのハーブ（ホーリー・バジル）は、広範囲において、マラリアの予防薬として用いられていました。

The history of this remarkable plant actually goes back to the time when it was recognized by India's ancient `rishis' as the ultimate medicinal herb, and was subsequently established as one of the eight indispensable items in any Vedic worship ritual.

This requirement ensured that every house and temple had at least one Tulsi bush growing within its proximity, allowing everybody easy access to its extraordinary healing power and,at the same time, keeping the home pure, peaceful and harmonious.

Unlike other plants, Tulsi emits oxygen instead of carbon dioxide, at night; it is kown to purify or de-pollute the atmosphere and also repels mosquitoes, flies and other harmful insects.

他の植物と異なり、 トォルシー（ホーリー・バジル） は、夜間に、二酸化炭素の代わりに、酸素を発散する；それは、空気の浄化であり、あるいは、環境汚染を除去する効能であって、そして、同時に蚊、蝿と他の有害な昆虫を追い払う効果をもたらすものです。

Therefore, in days gone by when whole families used to bed down in the courtyard to escape the heat of the house, it was considered both safe and healthy to sleep close to the Holy Basil.

As a remedy, Tulsi is generally prepared and administered in medicinal teas and poultices.
